Why in the world would you not take this into account?

Pretty much everyone on that list was a terrible fielder or juiced out of their mind.

Griffey's average stats get hurt a lot because he got so much PT when he was young and after all his injuries late in his career. He has 1000s more plate appearances than a lot of those guys.

His career WAR is 34th all time (baseball reference). Behind only Bonds, ARod, Chipper, and Pujols (not counting guys like Ricky Henderson who played in the 90s but were at their best in the 80s) from the 90s/00s.

i'm not saying they were better players...just better hitters

griffey of course gets a lot of credit for being a competent center fielder. i was just separating that out in my original statement

I was thinking the same thing. He can use whatever sabermetrics he wants, Lance fricking Berkman was not a better hitter then Griffey Jr.
