USC was the team that went to Auburn with a new QB and made them quit in 04. But whatever.

USC went to Arkansas and played them at home in 2 games scored 135 pts.

Everyday. That SC defense was as athletic as Bama's if not more so.

Did Bama's defense this year face anything resembling USC's offense? They let a freshman quarterback single-handedly tune their asses up in Tuscaloosa this year and win the Heisman as a result.

That was 2003. But yeah, the Arkansas team they slapped around in 2006 was the SEC West champ that season and gave LSU a run for its money.

Bingo. They also let an underachieving Mettenberger torch them. I was at the game and he did what ever he wanted to them

What are you trying to say?

Are you seriously contending that at that time Auburn and Arkansas were SEC elite?

I love how you bring up Bama barely beating LSU THIS YEAR.

Is this supposed to be a counter to my point ?

Yeah, you are talking about '04.

Do you think LSU '12 are a bunch of scrubs?

They spanked Auburn both 2002 and 2003. Auburn was ranked top 5 and was projected to win the SEC in 2003, but SC made thrashed them pretty badly. Then in 2006 they annihilated Arkansas, who happened to win the SEC West that season.

They beat Arky 50-14. Would McFadden/Mustain have made much of a difference there?

They were hardly elite. Unless you think losing to Clemson is the mark of an elite team
