Yo, 1978.

Alabama beat #10 Nebraska, #11 Mizzou, lost to #6 USC by 10, beat #10 LSU, then beat #1 PSU in their bowl.

Basically the exact opposite on the 73 season.

So take one away from Alabama, and give them the other.

Either way, you can't take both and be taken seriously in this debate.

Your choice.

If one news service declares the opponent you lost to...the National Champ...

How can anyone in good conscience accept the booby prize by another service and strut around saying we lost to the National Champs but we National Champs too!

I guess that was the beginning era of do-overs by Bama. We lost but lets reconsider this shite.

Alabama probably had some of the best teams back in the day of you and PeeJ.

But I'm more than fine ditching every single one of them. News services can kick rocks.

So tell me, friend. What year would you like to start counting these things?

Alabama will have your blood boiling no matter what year you pick.

Hey, guys. Remember us, USC? The original subject of the thread? The thread about how no one's paying attention to USC

Fitting how USC is now being ignored in this thread also

I hope, for the sake of this board, that neither Bama or Ohio State backdoor their way into the playoffs. The ensuing melt would cripple TD’s servers

Just seems crazy. That was the playoffs. Okay we had the playoffs and you lost...but then you claim you won?

I don't get it. Why anybody would be proud or celebrate or nominate for those years as proud National Title years. You got your arse beat...not by scrubs...

BUT BY TEAMS THAT WERE VOTED THE NATIONAL CHAMPION.

You can't say you're National Champ - IF YOU LOST TO THE NATIONAL CHAMP!

Georgia and Miami should jump an Idle Alabama if they win IMO. I think they control their own destiny. Bama of course needs help, and I’m not sure why Ohio State gets a pass for the Iowa loss and is a fringe playoff team.

This guy is lost.

There's one thing you can't do. You can't take both 73 AND 78 away from Alabama.

You're just done then.

IF they beat Boise State tomorrow they are 10-3 and champions of their conference. Had they played some alsoran instead of going to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama they'd be 10-2 right now.

Yeah, but San Diego State (10-2) is in the same division of the MWC with Fresno State and has a win over Stanford, who just played in the PAC-12 CG, and is not ranked. Fresno is only ranked to prop up Bama.

Fair enough, but Ohio State is still in contention after the dicking they got in Iowa.. because of favoritism. At least Notre Dame is ranked.
