Yep, great game. I was on the floor of the Dome in the marching band watching the first Hahnville play from scrimmage - 80 yard bomb for a TD. Shocked everyone since Hahnville was an extremely run-heavy team.

Yep, the Barbier days (my old college bud). He won 2 titles and lost in the finals once in his short time at HHS. Wish we could get him back....he was at the STM game wonder if he's getting the bug to coach again.

We did lose to Hahnville that year and I'm pretty sure they went 15-0 that season.

Back in those days, we had 1,700 kids in the school, lots of talent and made deep runs in the playoffs almost every year.

Richwood's re-opening and lots of people moving out to Sterlington has dropped Ouachita's enrollment down to 1,250 or so.

Barbier coached in and won 2 title games at Hahnville (1992 - 4A Broadmoor & 1994 - 5A Ouachita). The 1995 state runners-up in 5A that lost to Neville 35-7 were coached by Scott Hildebrand is his VERY short (but still too long) tenure as Hahnville head coach. Barbier left Hahnville in the 1995-96 school year to take the head coaching position at Nicholls St. going winless in his first season and then taking the Colonels to an 8-win season in 1996 and a trip to the playoffs to get utterly destroyed by Montana in a Missoula blizzard.

We can debate that for days, I think he's at the burnout point. Too much talent walking around that school to play like they have the last few seasons.

Sadly, I'm starting to agree. There have been several decisions in big games - most notably in the recent playoff campaigns - that baffled most fans.

Alot of people wanted to offer the excuse of the WM outdated offense, or that Turner was hurt. Not alot of them wanted to just say that Acadiana was good on both sides of the ball, especially getting stops when they needed them, and getting the turnovers. Some people took there medicine and gave Acadiana their props. Not alot though.

This is the problem..schools bitched because they couldn't beat em. So they got shipped down to 2a and are killing everyone. They'll have Redmp next year, but that isn't much more of a challange for either of them.

Parkview, Curtis, and Evangel should all play minimum 4A. The later of the three should be in 5a.

Nice bump, we need to see if we can get these acadiana coaches to stop holding back players. 4 appearances and 2 state titles in six years, somethings gotta be up. James P Bitterman is behind this somehow.....
