Then why do you feel the need to bring attention to this eggregious situation running rampant in the NBA?

I was actually referencing the NCAA players that got 6th man awards from their conference.

Dumb IMO.

If they aren't good enough to start, they shouldn't be awarded. Why not a fifth man or the year? Or 12th man of the year?

are you stupid or trolling?

I agree with you. If the NBA was full of teams that were stacked like the 86 Celtics an award might be necessary but in todays NBA it is pointless.

not really.

saying of they were good enough they would start shows a sever lack of understanding of the game.

dudes like Terry, Manu, and Harden were/are not 6th men b/c they aren't good enough to start.

I guess I should have said, if they are productive enough to earn the 1st, 2nd, 3rd team award then they get it no matter their role.

If they aren't, they don't.

But to be fair, most of these "6th men" get starter minutes.

which should tell you something about the role and what its about.

and its an award b/c lots of dudes are not willing to sacrifice being a starter for the betterment of the team.

prime example is Iverson. Dude might still be in the league if his fat arse ego could have dealt with being a 6th man instead of requiring he was a starter to play with anyone.
