a. last year. they have a new coach and offensive system this year. they have a new defensive system this year, coached by a really good DC. stoops did leave some talent out there. i'm not saying zona is a title contender, but they may make a huge jump this year via superior coaching

b. OSU lost some talent from last year. they went from a monster WR and 28 year old calming influence at QB to an unknown WR corps and a true freshman QB. that's called a drop

You know who else lost all of their offensive production from last year? Toledo. Remember them? I think they played Arizona recently. I'm sure the juggernaut known as Arizona worked them over without much difficulty.

Basically what we have here is a table with Free Money scattered all over it. You can either grab the Free Money off the table and go your merry way, or you can come up with a million stupid arse reasons why you shouldn't stuff those free legal tender notes in your pockets, and in your socks, and in your boxer briefs. Me? I'll be rubbing my nutsack with that Free Money. I can let you smell it if you'd like.

Don't ever research your way out of Free Money. Arizona sucks at football. Oklahoma State is good. Analysis over.

Why did Vegas/Offshore have Bama (-11)? Betting trends.
Plus, they are a home underdog >7.

1. No they don't
2. And they don't even care

There are books about sportsbooks and how they're run. Perhaps there is one at your local library.

Exactly what I asked when I read your post. I had no idea how it related to the topic at hand. And I still don't.

Last year, OkSt was about 17 orders of magnitude better than Arizona. The only way they lose enough to bring them down to 'zona's level this year is if there is a goddamn plane crash. And you can quote me on that.

Sticky this thread.

I'll laugh my arse off if Zona covers due to your cockiness about "knowing football."

You're all in on Okie State because of Savannah State and dogging a Pac 12 team with new blood and coach like they're Florida Atlantic.

The game is at Arizona and Toledo is a top 60 FBS team while Savannah belongs in Division II.

Vegas does know something; that you might be an idiot.

I'm kinda busy today, but I'll get you pointed in the right direction.

1. Sportsbook are not in the business of gambling. What do they call the guy in poker rooms at casinos that comes by and takes a percentage of the pot for the house? Sportsbooks, ideally, are that guy. Now can they get even money on both sides all the time? Of course not. But they try to keep them reasonably balanced and this is why lines are moved. Usually it is a responsive to one or two feared "sharp" players. Sometimes it's public money. Either way, the guy running the sportsbook doesn't know any more about Teddy Bridgewater than me, you, your sister, or your mother. He knows that LVSC handed him a printout with an line that says Louisville-8.5. And so he posts that line and tweaks accordingly. When the book is doing a good job handicapping games, you won't see drastic line moves. But they aren't always good at handicapping games because, as I said, they don't know any more about Teddy Bridgewater than me, you, or your naughty naughty sister.

Make sense?

Now go read a book.

Vegas can have limited knowledge. It also places lines that increase bets. Bama wouldn't have been at (-11) if trends didn't place it at 11.
Arizona has home underdog by greater than 7 points. That number is going to influence bettors to take Zona. a 3-3 1/2 point drop. That is why we are not seeing a great increase and probably will not see a great increase in the spread.

Next time, try not to be a dick.
