In the years under Mark Few they averaged a 7 seed and 7 seeds historically average .83 wins a tournament. They have 22 wins in the 17 tournament appearances under Few so they actually exceed their seeds expectation.

They've lost to a #1 seed seven times and a 2 or 3 seed three times. So 10 out of their 17 appearances they've lost to a top 3 seed.

Knowing this you can make a point they actually perform better than expected.

However, they've been a top 4 seed themselves 6 times and have gone 10-6 as such. 1 seeds historically average three wins and 2-4 seeds two wins and knowing this they should at least have 13 wins (1 x 3 + 5 x 2.)

Overall, when Gonzaga is a top 4 seed they underachieve in terms of their seed expectations.
