It is possible that non-college football teams existed and had Marines on the team at some point in the past 100 years. I am not sure how that worked within NCAA rules.
After playing college football for the U.S. Naval Academy and winning the Heisman trophy, Roger Staubach played for Pensacola Navy. Article about playing post college.
I saw him play Southeastern in Hammond when I was in grade school. That was after his four years of college and a tour in South Vietnam.
“I was stationed at Pensacola in 1967 and ‘68, and Pensacola played schools such as Southwestern Louisiana [now Louisiana-Lafayette], Southeastern Louisiana and Middle Tennessee,” Staubach said."
