They sound elated and gleeful when the Astros aren't doing well and much more subdued when they are ahead.

Are announcers not allowed to talk about one team who’s done good things so far? Why does everyone think announcers hate “their team” just because they talk about the other team. This is coming from an Astros fan too. LSU fans are no different.

Normally I'd agree. It's also a knock at the announcers for being that way about the blue bloods of baseball (Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers)

I think they usually just dick ride the team that’s in the lead. Like a couple posters in the game thread.

Real talk. Throughout my childhood the Stros were a perennial chump with a weak fan base. Then after years of tanking they build a winner. In turn, a wave of fair weather fans emerge. In the know baseball folk know this, which makes them easy to hate. No one is a life long Astros fan.
