82 is when he stopped the coat and tie
Few still wears a coat just not a tie like Brey. The first guy I remember not wearing a suit was George Raveling at Iowa he wore sweatsuit.

Louis Carneseca(sp) wore some pretty bad sweaters.

He wore one and it was because he was sick and they went on a winning streak. He stopped wearing it after the "Sweater Game" vs Georgetown.

He had one that looked as if someone had thrown a huge pot of spaghetti all over him.

Well when you live in a hotel I don't expect him to have suits.

NFL wants to market official sideline gear
Mike Nolan asked to wear it on the sideline when he was the 49ers coach as an homage to his dad Dick Nolan, who was an NFL coach in the 60s and 70s and wore suits.
The NFL said no.
Could you imagine Hank Stram or Tom Landry being told to wear a "(insert team name here) FOOTBALL" pullover?

Football coaches should go back to wearing suits
