Why aren't there more white running backs?

There are a lot of strong and fast white guys out there.
I mean, they might not be Tyson Gay on the track... but they don't have to be the absolute fastest guys on the field.
There are plenty of white guys who are fast enough to be a good running back.
So why are they so rare? I mean, I can understand there being more black running backs. But a white running back is almost unheard of. They shouldn't be THAT rare.
What gives?

Not sure how timely this thread is as they seem to be making a comeback over the past few years. Quite a few now.

I bet you love the OT which scours the internet for minority based crime.
It takes more than speed to be a good running back anyway.

a lot of times, this discrimination starts in middle school. and it's often by white coaches.
also, often white mom and dad want athlete to play soccer, a more "civilized" sport.
