Tyrone Prothro - Had arguably the single best catch in Alabama football history and was well on his way to being a first day draft pick before a freakish gruesome leg injury ended his playing career midway through his senior year. He was having an incredible season and had a huge game that day against Florida but never played another down of football after that

Another one to blame on a coach...

frick MIKE SHULA!!!!

Bama was destroying Florida in that game...Prothro had no business still being on the field in the 4th Quarter.

Katz had no true position. He was a very good hitter, but not a big, strong guy that mlb teams would fill a lineup spot for just for his bat. He never had a true chance. He was one of the best LA high school hitters I have ever seen. I’d put Mike Fontenot ahead of him and not many more.

Jason Campbell - surprised his career was as good as it was. He had 3 different O coordinators while at AU and damn near had a different one every season he was in the NFL.
Campbell was unbelievable that year Auburn went undefeated. He put on a clinic against Arkansas. I was confident he was going to be a stud in the NFL.

Miles Simon is example of several wonderful college players whose injury robs them of greatness.

don't think he was thought of as much of a pro prospect.

Speaking of special teams, gotta throw Brad Wing in there.

Based on his 2011 season, I thought he had a chance to be an excellent punter in the NFL. Must've been personal issues to derail him because he had the talent to do it.
Have you been drunk the last 4 years?

Open my eyes? Wing has started the last 4 years in the NFL avaeragimg 44 yards a punt and is making over 2 million a year. That is why I asked if he was drunk naming wing in this thread....

What more did he expect He is a punter. The goal is to simply make the NFL. And he has done that

Looks like he's doing well. I thought he could be the best in the league.

But I guess he really doesn't meet the criteria of this thread because he has made it.
