Who wins in 2000 Pacers vs Portland if they didn’t blow a 20 point lead against Lakers

I was watching highlights of game 7 of 2000 Blazers vs Lakers. If Blazers would have won that would have been a dog fight vs the Pacers. I know this is a what if but who would have won that series?

It’s amazing the Pacers only won the East 1 time in the ten-year span from 94-04.
They lost back-to-back 7 game ECF’s in 94 and 95, albeit the Knicks and Magic were higher seeds. They lost to the Bulls in 98, arguably the toughest test for MJ. Somehow they pissed it away in 6 games against 8th seeded NY in 2000. Also blew it as a higher seed against Detroit in 2004.
A 1-5 record in 6 tries...yikes.

I’d give the edge to the Blazers. 4-2
Blazers weren’t necessarily well coached...but Pippen Greg Anthony Augmon Sabonis Steve Smith Schrempf-Smart vets
Young Bonzi Jermaine O’Neal Stoudamire
& Sheed probably their best player which is a tough pill given his maturity
Pacers have solid group of players as well & the coaching advantage.
I say Blazers 4-2 but a “close” 4-2

Ain’t no argument. MJ said they were by far the best opponents they faced during their dynasty runs

Sometimes you’re standing too close to the fire, and in this case MJ is.
His toughest opponents in the Eastern Conference were the 2x champs in the Bad Boys (probably disregarding them because of grudges) & ‘92-‘93 Knicks(that was a bloodbath).
Indy was damn good and unique enough because of situations like Pippens back injury and the strong perimeter play of the Pacers as well as a strong post presence in Smits/Davis Bros.

That Western Conference Finals WAS the Finals imo.
Blazers in a walk.

The 2000 blazers and 01 Kings are probably the 2 greatest teams that didn’t participate in the NBA finals.

Pacers, Basketball Jesus coached them whereas fricking Mike Dunleavy coached the Blazers

Pacers may get a game. Blazers roll.

Reggie Miller would have willed them to victory. I kills me to see how many wasted opportunities the pacers had

Pacers should have beaten the Knicks the year before in 1999.

Yep. Would have made for a much more interesting series against SA. The Knicks shot 39.2 pct for the series, 20.2 pct from 3. They made 11 total threes. Reggie Miller would made SA respect the outside shot. I think the Spurs still roll.

Pacers had the big men down low that were better the the Knicks to go up against the spurs. Spurs would have won 4-2 though.

02 Kings but I agree with this.

The Pacers were the Jazz of the East, always contenders but never quite good enough to win a title.
Blazers would have probably swept them or at the most beat them in 6.
