How about a different approach.

Who do you think deserves the finals MVP?

If you're gonna pretend like a great player joining a team that he just blew a 3-1 playoff series lead to, just set the regular season record for wins, and was 1 game away from winning back to back championships is the same or even comparable to 3 great players joining togéther to form a team to try to win a championship, then yea that's how this is gonna work.

Everyone else - Lebron was worse

Lebron homer - DURANT was worse!!

the reaction from the public tells us that the overwhelming majority thought what Lebron did was worse. I agree.

My theory on why people hated The Decision (while I LOVED it because I thought it was captivating, mysterious, a huge event and built great anticipation which is WHAT GREAT BUSINESS PEOPLE AND ENTERTAINERS DO):

The presentation and spectacle came off as narcissistic and petty to old-time, super-conservative types who greatly appreciate the blue-collar, subtle approach to things, which isn't bad but, to me, it's not a holistic perspective particularly in the current context with social media and all translating to my next reason/theory

Those people have little to no understanding or simply don't want to understand the current free agency context of professional sports leagues whereas that context wasn't the case back in the 1950s-60s when they first became interested in sports, intolerant of unions at all cost, mentality that athletes should be bound to their employer-teams their entire career and prohibited from entertaining offers from other teams within which IMO is un-American and, in the legal context, illegal

The decision show wasn’t nearly as bad as his actual decision to in essence give up and make a super team. This was a guy who could’ve been goat and he straight up quit to join up with two other top ten players bc he knew he couldn’t win a title. To see that’s what his mentality was, was heartbreaking. It will always be ‘what might have been’.

Can't fix STUPID......

None of anything else you said matters.... The dude FLED his team to join A super team to win a title.... Which AGAIN I have no problem with... It just tarnishes his legacy..............

TF? He did it because he was surrounded by Mo Williams and a bunch of scrubs and was contending against Boston's Big 3 plus Rondo and Perkins YOU KNOW one great player rarely beats a great team all by himself and that was clearly the case at this point maybe Gilbert should've gotten LeBron better players to dethrone that behemoth, I'd have done the same thing and you would too unless you like to reject logic

Here the Heat have the highest win total betting odds to start 2011

You can go back and look at various sites; the Heat were a sure thing to at least make the ECF on the low end of speculation.

Yeah buddy, they were just praying to God they could get a single championship out of it, total shot in the dark, not 2, 3, 4 etc championships.

The Heat were a super team, sure, but LeBron was by far the most important player still. He left and they missed the playoffs.

They won 38 games. That’s not bad. You act like Lebron was the only change to the roster. Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, James Jones, and Shane Battier all also left. Not too mention that Bosh had a blood clot situation that sidelined him in February, and McRoberts, a knee injury in December.

I get so much shite for this opinion, but I agree

Hell the only significant difference in my eyes was multiple players from different teams participating in a year-plus of blatant collusion

Also added Deng and Dragic.

Still, in the "shitty" East, that team couldn't make the playoffs after LeBron left.

My point is that Lebron's importance in Miami is exponentially higher than Durant's in GS.

One is three great players coming together for a run at championships with no clue how it will work. They obviously were very talented and favorites, but it was their crack at it together.

Durant joined the team that beat him, a team that won 73 games without him.

I'm not sure how people think it's the same as LeBron in Miami. LeBron and Garnet in Boston are similar. Neither are similar to Durant.

Well duh. That shouldn’t even be a question.

Miami had 30 different lineups that year which was (and maybe still is) a team record.
Most such dynasties crumble and new blood emerge after the GOATS leave. See Bulls 1998-1999

LeBron

Kd, Steph, Klay will all get 20 something with one or two getting 35 once or twice.
None of them are more valuable than the others, even though one might hit the winning shot.

If no LeBron Cavs are awful.

If no kd. Klay shoots more.
