It's easily Wiggins. Just because there is starting to be competition for rookie of the month doesnt mean there is competition for Rookie of the year.

Wiggins is clearly the ROY, but his rookie season has been somewhat overrated by some. They've either declared it among the great rookie season and/or have used it as evidence Wiggins is going to be a perennial MVP candidate. He may be great, but he needs to improve a lot before that is anywhere close to a reality.

This. People are overrating the shite out of his rookie season. He's putting up worse stats than MCW did last year yet no one thinks he had an amazing rookie season. He's also doing it on the worst team in the league.. Awesome. He obviously didn't make his team better.

Then people say "but his defense is ELITE!!!"

These people have never seen him play and just read what the NBA draft "analysts" spouted as facts that he had all the tools to be an elite defender. There isn't a single stat that I can find that proves he is an actual good defender
