No, everything pre-1996 stayed in Cleveland. The Ravens got the players and staff.

So Baltimore got the actual team, the one with the lineage back to the champions.

The real question is whether OSU would swap rosters with either of them.

The Ravens were a new franchise.

Either team would beat the Buckeyes, so yes, I think they would trade.

At least the Browns have several NFL championships, granted it was before Super Bowl era, but still.

And the franchise produced Otto Graham, one of the best QBs of all time, and Jim Brown, one of the best RBs of all time.
Let's be honest... that wasn't the current Cleveland Browns franchise.

And I don't mean "today's players"... the Cleveland Browns today aren't the Cleveland Browns franchise that had history with Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Bernie Kosar fighting Elway's Broncos in the 80's etc.
That FRANCHISE up and left, went to Baltimore as the Ravens. The owner, coaches, players all left.

The "new" Cleveland Browns were an expansion franchise given a name that was abandoned.

This is sorta like looking at the Houston Texans, and them trying to claim what the old Oilers did as part of their history. But that's not the same franchise either, the Oilers are now the Titans.
Or the Ravens claiming the Colts Baltimore history as their own, instead of the Browns history.

The Browns current franchise is one of the worst in the NFL.
