Their is no way BYU will be one of the 4 playoff teams.

While we are talking about BYU, can we at least agree that BYU has one of the nicest settings in all of college football?
Now on the topic of BYU. These guys are for sure a quality football team. I can easily see them running the table. Would that get them in the playoffs...I don't know, but college football is crazy so you never know? On the topic of BYU joining the Big 12, I think they both need each other. The Big 12 needs 12 teams and a championship game and BYU needs a conference home. BYU would seem like a logical choice to me, but what do I know?

If they are the only undefeated team in the country should they be? Possibly.

A lot of these schedules are made YEARS in advance... So, back several years ago Texas, Boise, Uconn were pretty decent...

BYU beat Boise St last year. 37-20. And the game was worse than that score tells for Boise.
But to be clear most BYU fans understand that a "perfect storm" would have to happen to get into the playoff.
Realize that BYU would schedule better teams if they were willing. You think we want to be playing Savannah State in November? Last year we had 7 power 5 schools on our schedule. They won't schedule BYU every year.
What gets me is that the power 5 don't want to consider a BYU in scheduling as a power 5 level opponent. You really gonna tell me that BYU is inferior to teams like Purdue, Iowa, Iowa St, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Indiana, Maryland or Minnesota? But because they are in a power 5 they count towards the new scheduling standards, but BYU and Boise St do not? Yeah that makes sense. I for one know that BYU is not on the same level as an LSU or Alabama in football year in and year out. But at least I'm not arrogant enough to argue that I'de rather watch my team play Rutgers or Indiana over a Boise St or BYU. Year in and year out both Boise and BYU are better than the bottom half of the power 5 conferences and they sure could win any given game on a given day. That is why we play the game.
On the playoff subject I think going forward BYU or a Boise St. Will almost have to go 2 seasons with undefeated years, making a new years bowl and winning the first year, and then repeating might.... i stress might get them in.
