Where does he still rank now?

Nobody seems to talk about him...when it's all LeBron, Kobe, Jordan.

Has he become underrated over time?

"I played against George Gervin, Dr. J., Michael Jordan, some of the best players that have ever played this game, but Larry Bird would have to be the best." - Michael Cooper

"He is nearly as perfect as you can get in every phase of basketball." - Jerry West

"Look in his eyes, you see a killer." - Dominique Wilkens

"If you put all of us in a room, you know, Magic, Jordan, myself, and Bird...Bird probably be the guy who walks out of the room at the end of the day." - Isiah Thomas

"I will say, as the years go on, people really forgot how great Larry Bird was. And I grew up in L.A., just like everyone else here, hating his guts. Dude, the guy was just money." - Kobe Bryant

"Regular guy that could do everything...you know I thought most of what he did was luck, but as I got older and kept watching, I just knew that it was skill." - Shaq

"If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game I'd choose Michael Jordan; if I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life...I'd take Larry Bird." - Pat Riley

easily top 5... at least semi-modern.

in no order, besides the first one:

MJ
LBJ
Magic
Larry

Of course there are a bunch more I could list here, but I put him right there with the GOATs. Magic or Larry?

Seems like some stupid logic

Bird vs Lebron age 30

Bird also averaged 40.6 minutes played that season.

OK..... how does one season make an argument? Did Larry ever lead all players in every statistic in a Finals? No, but he is still great. Cmon man...

also, was that LeBron's first year back with a new team who won like 28 games or something the year before? Cmon man....

oh, and DOUBLE also, I specifically said IN NO ORDER in my OP.

edit: sorry i'm dumb and extremely hangry

? I didn't make an argument

There are a lot of people who view Bird as a shooter. He's one of the best all around players the game has ever seen. I'm not saying he's better than Lebron or anything, but the dude is certainly a top 5 player in my mind.

hahah sorry. It came across as you trying to say Larry is better. Which, he very well could be. But I had to put my side out there too. When LBJ retires, people will use his rings as validation over Larry, which I guess is fair, but I think Larry is one of the coldest to ever do it. Someone could say he is the best of all time and I would have no problem with it

all that said, I think the graphic is kinda pointless because what does one player at this age vs. player at same age matter? no offense intended

Below please find a list of people who have won 3 or more regular season MVPs and 2 or more finals MVPs:

Russell
Kareem
Bird
Magic
MJ
Bron

ETA: These guys are probably your top 6 players in NBA history. Not a coincidence.

I'd take Bird over Lebron.

Bird always wanted the ball at the end of games. Lebron has passed it away more times than I can count.

Lebron is the better athlete, but there were much better athletes when Bird was playing too. Bird was a killer and had that ability to just make his whole team better.

Jordan was better than them both. Magic was probably equal to Bird and had a younger supporting cast so he picked up two titles after Bird and the Celtics were too old.

That 1986 team of Boston was better than any team Lebron has ever had.

If I had to build a team, I'd take Larry over Lebron. But, not by much. Lebron is great.

Larry is the GOAT. He did not have v to wait for his competition to age itself out of the game like Jordan and LeBron did.
