Hearing multiple QB-needy teams have inquired about Patriots QB Joe Milton

Looks like they may have fallen in love with throws like this

Given Drake Maye had a few concussions this year and the state of the Oline, he’s not going anywhere for next season

Let him continue to build up hype with preseason and backup performances and cash out in year 3 or 4 if he continues to develop

He’s not a great backup QB because fans will clamor for him because of his freak attributes and athleticism.

His only landing spot should be on a team with an established vet QB who’s starting job won’t be questioned.

Pats already have a starter with those things so he’s in the perfect spot already

A 6'5", 6th round QB who played at Michigan and was a backup his first year.

... Why would the Patriots trade such a player??

Remember in preseason when Jacoby Brissett was begging Pats fans at training camp to stop boo'ing Maye and over-cheering for Milton?

Obviously Maye has earned favor and rightfully so, but if he has a bad sophomore year the noise will pick up again, especially after the game this weekend.

Not really no

Sounds like a great reason to not trade a backup in case that did happen.

No one is going to be calling for Joe Milton because of a week 18 game against backups no one wanted to win sure there will be some dumb Reddit comments and TD posts possibly but who cares

Agreed. But someone might get desperate and make an offer too good to refuse.

I’d be all for it. I’m not saying I’d turn down a 2-3rd rounder for him if someone got antsy, but teams aren’t doing that based off of last weeks game

But then if the starter goes down he may be good enough to win

As opposed to when we had Brunell backing up Brees. What good is it to waste a roster spot on a guy who you probably make a coach?

Genuinely curious, what did scouts see in Anthony Richardson that they didn’t see in Milton?

You underestimate how dumb the common fan is - cheering for Milton over Maye in preseason camp being exhibit No. 1

Milton has good athleticism. Richardson has like top 10 combine in league history athleticism. Also Milton played a lot in college so he didn't have a mystery factor.

I think you’re misremembering the reality of that story

Here’s the video

First thing he says is “damn yall only cheer for Drake?”

Then says “oh they only cheer for the young guys”
