The Christian church intertwining itself with the political machine as a means to build power and force their subjective morality on the entire populace is a tale as old as time. I grew up in it, and it has infected my entire state, and is the main reason we’ll never get ahead. But you didn’t really want an answer, so carry on.

So, you’re not going to answer the question. There’s no argument against fact that the church has pretty much always involved itself with politics. The argument is against that the “subjective morality” is bad for the country. I’m a Christian, but I’m not in favor of legislating morality, but the problem isn’t the morality itself, it’s the people trying to enforce it. That will always come off as judgmental and violating perceived personal rights. Where do those rights come from, though?

Anybody else remember the orgasm shampoo commercials?

I remember being in like 2nd grade and mimicking this in the shower as a joke. Of course I had no idea what the commercial was really portraying. I remember my parents being like, “What the frick are you doing?” Even funnier now.

The Constitution, I guess. I don’t think we actually disagree here. I’m not supportive of the left trying to legislate morality either. Both sides are power-hungry, and want control more than anything else. So, Christian Nationalism (which isn’t a new term, but is more in the spotlight these days due to these folks actually garnering some wins) and whatever we’re calling extreme Leftism these days are two sides of the same coin. Both sides push legislation that they feel will benefit them. Neither side is pushing legislation that will benefit all of us, which is why both sides are plagues upon society. I’m rambling.

During the NIT tourney, I was watching a game and ESPN did nothing to drown out the trash talk the players were doing throughout the game while playing. When one player went up to block a shot, he said "gimmy that shite ni$$a" and it was very clear and loud.

I heard the same thing in the NDSU-Montana FCS semifinal game when the Bison scored the game tying TD.

We’ve known about that ilk going back to the John Birch Society.

Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.

It’s real, bro.

Christian Nationalism is what you get when you trade the teachings of Jesus for the pursuit of political power. They are completely antithetical to each other, and folks pretend they can somehow align. Wild. As you were.

Jesus is the son of God. You can mock him and his teachings but it will not go unpunished. Not my words.

And look where compromise has gotten us.
