See...the first line didn't require a "but." That's my point. these two things are not, in any way related other than that Shaq is a former NBA player and the Sterling guy is a soon to be former NBA owner. It's not even like the various shitty comparisons trying to equate any and all comments from some black person with Sterling as an attempt to deflect criticism from him. At least THOSE attempts at deflection are at least comparing apples to apples.
You or anyone else want to rip on Shaq for this? Fine...deservedly so! To equate it to Sterling's bullshite is where any and all credibility is lost, because they have absolutely nothing, at all, to do with each other.

Shaq said if he had a vote at the NBA table he'd get rid of the Clippers owner. When I don't have a vote at the LSU table but if I did you'd never see this idiot walk around Tiger Stadium again or invited to any other event at LSU. Did shaq know he was disabled? Make fun of the fact that he has a disability? Speak out against people with disabilities? Imply that they are inferior to his "type"?
To me, it looks he saw a picture of a guy that looked odd to him and tried to be funny. Probably in bad taste at the time, but certainly is now knowing that he was born with deformities.
But to equate this to Sterling's comments or that overall situation is downright hilarious.

Geaux Tiger TM what makes them related is Shaq shooting off his mouth about what HE would do to Sterling if he "had a vote at the NBA table." Shaq's sitting in judgment one day then making making fun of handicapped people the next? I think hurting a disabled person is pretty close to telling some paid escort you've hired to make you look good at the games who she can bring to the games.

I agree Shaq was wrong, but he personally called the dude and apologized. I'm not proud of it, but we've all laughed or made fun of someone at some point. Now that I'm older I realize how terrible that is and that we don't know others' situations.
OP needs to be updated with Shaq did personally apologize, the video is misleading.
