You can make an argument for the 2000 SB.

The 2000 Ravens actually only had three players on their roster that came over from the original Browns. Those players are Rob Burnett, Larry Webster, and Matt Stover. One was a kicker, one was a backup DT, and while Rob Burnett was a very good player, he was more of a complimentary role player on that Ravens defense than a featured star. The Ravens roster was basically completely turned over and the players that came over from the Browns weren't critical components to them winning a Super Bowl. It's hard to say that the original Browns definitively would have won a Super Bowl if they had stayed in Cleveland. However, they certainly would have been in much better shape than they are now.

Dude, look up the series history and get back to me.

Who cares about the series history? Are you a butt hurt Steelers fan? The Steelers have not dominated the AFC the last 15 years, NE has. The Ravens have been better than Pitt the last 2 years, they didn't catch some break because the Steelers got upset, they were better.

They moved after the 95 season and won the SB in 2000. What is the roster turnover for most bad teams in 5-6 years like that? The first draft in Baltimore they took Ray Lewis and J Ogden. Those wer picks they made based on their 95 record as the Browns. Newsome was in the FO in Cleveland. Why would it be different if they stayed?

I guess you could argue they might not have imploded and fired Belichick if not for the announced move, but then again teams that don't move have shitty seasons and fire everyone all the time.

My point is that Baltimore has to get through Pittsburgh in order to make the playoffs, and Pittsburgh usually wins that battle.

And, NE has dominated the AFC, but at least Pittsburgh has won two Super Bowls since NE's last one.

Oh, and I'm not a Pitt fan.

First of all usually does not = always. Second of all, they have to get thru the AFC, which they did. The last 2 season, Balt > Pitt, just like 2000, so how can you say they haven't gotten past Pitt? You are saying they lose to Pitt except when they don't.

right and those years Pitt didn't have to play NE. Baltimore has now won a 2nd SB where they finished ahead of Pittsburgh in the regular season. That Pitt has finished ahead of Baltimore more often is not relevant. They did beat Pitt this year, just like last year.

Nice edit. Pitt has never lost to Baltimore in the postseason , I think. Regardless, if you think never moving the team to Baltimore would give Cleveland at least one Super Bowl, then this conversation is pointless and no one can help you.
