Are they really using espn as a hype man to get u to buy espn plus for a ufc fight, during the UFC’s fight? And why is Steven a smith the lead commentator

Yes they are. Main event on ESPN+ lol.

He is actually pretty good doing UFC.

He is terrible and too much of a try hard in everything he does. I've watched the UFC since 1993 and will turn the channel as soon as I see him. If he starts color commentary I'm done.
