Mookie Betts bowled a 300 at a PBA sanctioned event.

What does this mean? (seriously)

From someone who knows nothing about bowling other than bowling for fun, I always wondered how tournaments worked. I just assume dudes who bowl as their job should be able to regularly bowl perfect games. I'm sure thats naive, but I don't know why.

The pros play in tournaments where the lanes are set up to be a lot tougher. They still sometimes get 300 games even with the harder conditions.

The pros would probably average 270 plus in a regular joe blow league with double digit 300 games every season.

I'll average 120-150 just showing up. I didn't know that was top amateur.. nice

All time best was 217 when I was blazed years ago. I don't think I'll ever break that

I bowled in the 150-170 range last night. I tried breaking the 200 mark but was unsuccessful. Is that OK for someone who goes twice a year?

Next time try bowling 300.

Weird thread.

150 to 170 is a big range.

That fine for twice a year.
200 takes practice. That's half strikes and half spares.

I've gone over 190 four times and never broken 200

Ah, an auditory hallucination.

Go back and read it again.

It's an important point and you bragging you are not yet grasping it is on you.

Ask a friend for help.
Try.

Its not. Not even close.

When I was 12 to 14, lived 6 miles from Philadelphia.
The paper carried bowling league scores and high series.
Amateurs all.
Plenty of people around 200 per.

Pros are way over 200.
Watch pba.

Well this gets my nomination as strangest bump of the year. I read the first reply, wonder who posted it, and saw I did 3 years ago. Hmm

I average between 120 and 130. I used to love to bowl but my thumb and my shoulder limits me a little now
