First of all, ReauxlTide's opinion is completely irrelevant until he admits there's head to head contact (he was claiming there was none last night even after seeing the video in the OP) If you aren't willing to admit that then you're clearly too biased to be taken seriously.

Second of all, anyone claiming targeting isn't saying it's dirty. They're saying the flag has been thrown all year so why not then? The dirty part was separate from the targeting.

Size of the defender hasn't mattered all year. Whether or not the offensive player ducked creating the head to head contact hasn't mattered all year. So you cant suddenly say he's twice his size, what's the defender supposed to do. I agree with the thought but you can't suddenly interpret the rule different than it's been interpreted all year.

What I can tell you is by definition, the play in the OP was roughing the passer.

Perhaps he is not labeled as a dirty player because he isn’t flagged when he commits dirty plays.

Unless you're just trolling, you should probably quit giving cute little nicknames to dirty play.
Q give some #extracurriculars in there at the end.

But let's be real. LSU fans calling for an ejection are for real sad.

It's targeting. And targeting is an ejection so yes we are calling for an ejection

What rule did he break?

Holy cow

The kid is being hyped as a top 3 pick and plays for Alabama and had a quote blow up on him twice this year.

Yet no team found ANY reason to call him dirty this year.

He form tackled a tiny dude and let him feel it at the end.

Y'all wanting this guy ejected is truly sad.

The roughing the passer rule

quote:

Forcibly driving the passer to the ground and landing on him with action that punishes the player.

We saw our best player miss a half of football (against you guys) for less than that.

There've been some overreactions, sure, but I think most just want consistency and fairness.

Typical Aggie.. dick riding Alabama. What are y’all gonna do when Jimbo gets y’all relevant in the West and Alabama is an actual division rival?

Roughing the passer

Rule 9-1-9 #4

quote:

. Forcibly driving the passer to the ground and landing on him with action that punishes the player.

You are acting like a whiny bitch, that is what is sad. I don’t care if he is ejected, I already said in this thread that I don’t think it should be targeting based on the rule. I will let others argue that by precedent maybe it could have been.

And “letting him feel it at the end” is precisely what should have triggered a penalty, as per the quote above. I don’t know if he is a dirty player, but committing a foul on purpose is a dirty move.

I’m not sure why you are so hung up on the “dirty player” angle. But if you don’t get called for dirty plays, you have less of a chance of being labeled as such.

People might be getting him confused with his boy throwing punches during a live play I don’t know.

Says a lot that an Alabama fan doesn’t even know how to reference the rule book

When starting a debate about a rule being broken, nonetheless

I wasn't trying to embarrass anyone.

I was truly asking about the rule.

Holy shite, man.

I'm not reading all of that.

I'll just do you a solid and believe you.

Can anyone show me an instance of a player being tossed in college football for driving a QB into the ground?
