VCU is going to be interesting.
They have a lot of potential match-ups with teams that either don't have a point guard (Akron, Kansas), or teams that don't mind taking quick, poor shots (Michigan).
Both of those play into VCU's favor, with their high pressure style of play.
The opposite side of things is that they aren't that big, unlike a lot of the teams they could potentially play. Akron has length all over the court. Kansas is big and has Withey down low. I guess an advantage for VCU is that they shoot a lot of outside shots anyway, so maybe that's not as big of an issue for them.
I can absolutely see VCU advancing to the Elite 8 out of this bracket, though. I love their style of play, and I think it's favorable in tournament play.
I was wanting to pick them to the Final Four before the brackets came out. Now that I see this draw, I kind of like it even more.

i dont really like michigan much but they have awesome guard play so i think that game could be fun to watch. when they get hot, it's pretty damn devastating. gonna be all about limiting turnovers against VCU for anyone that plays them.
elijah johnson and naadir tharpe are gonna mean a lot to kansas in this tournament. it's been the area of weakness all year but it's finally starting to look pretty good. if EJ has the type tourney (although he was playing the 2) he had last year, it's gonna be fun. if he doesnt, things will get interesting right away starting with UNC or Nova.

Michigan can lose any game by 10+ points, including their game against South Dakota State.
If they shoot well, they can beat anyone.
However, that formula doesn't add up to a team that can make a deep run. Can they do it once, maybe twice? Sure. But four times in a row? I doubt it.

Alot of Ole Miss picks. Tough for me to pick against Bo Ryan in rd 1.

Everyone's favorite statistician, Nate Silver, has some interesting numbers on who he thinks comes out of the SOUTH:
Florida 37%
Kansas 32%
Michigan 13%
Georgetown 7%
VCU 3%
Minnesota 2%
UNC 2%
That is very surprising to me.

Ole Miss is not winning that game.
They'll get physical with Henderson and check him hard off of all those Reggie Miller screens.
Ole Miss likes physical play, too. But some decent SEC team isn't going to beat Wisconsin at their own game, no matter how much I love Holloway and Buckner. If Henderson isn't shooting well, they're literally not good at all. Because he's still going to take his shots no matter what (look at the Mississippi State game. Wisconsin can defend the line.
Ole Miss does defend the 3-pt line well too, so I can see this being a low-scoring game. Something like 62-52 Wisconsin.

Remember, UF took Wisconsin's defense apart earlier in the season. They crushed them by 18.
Ole Miss has a shot if Holloway plays like he did in hte tournament final against UF.

VCU is a good team, but I do feel some depends on how the refs call the game. If they call it tight, and call ticky-tack fouls, they are much more beatable. If the refs allow the teams to play, VCU will be tough to beat. Not complaining about refs, but stating, with VCU's style of play the tighter the game is called, the easier it will be for them to be beat.

Akron aint winning. Don't have their PG, and a bad taste in their mouth for VCU

Correct. Nova has defeated 4 Top 5 teams this year.

Belmont over Arizona
I really like this pic... Belmont is an experienced team, has a great back-court, and blasted the OVC this year. The bruins bailed out early last, and I really think they're motivated.
