It was always a rule of thumb in a good economy you wouldn't turn a profit in the first 10 years when investing in one.....

Well the kids never wanted it. The dad built it and died right before it was done IIRC. I think the kids have always wanted to unload it, but now that they're probably having to throw some additional funds out they're trying to speed up the process. I just hope someone doesn't buy it and make it private

You can be the super. BeHop (RIP) can be the cart boy.

I found L'Augustas greens to be amazing Sunday. Maybe best I've ever seen them roll

Doubt it. Latewers greens are perfect. Don't care if they're brown

Correct, I was told when the $ was split when the elder Brady died it was split 8 ways, 5 was all in on the golf course and 3 wasn't and wanted more of the inheritance, who knows, I could careless, it's a great golf course IMO. I haven't played Bushwood in awhile but I remember it being pretty wide open and the greens wasn't good the only time I've played it since it was redone. The last 5-6 times I played ET it was a goat ranch greens wise, if I'm gonna be an out of town member somewhere private within an hour it would be UClub.

Yeah I heard something similar. You can get a 50k lifetime membership there. Guess it was their way of trying to recoup costs in a hurry

Or you could've paid 40K at Ellendale and had the same thing and be able to transfer it once with unlimited everything if you wanted new greens. You'd also know the course was never gonna be sold or filled with sugar cane. I guess the extra 10K was that lifetime membership LaTour staff bag.

Yeah but the trade off there is what "problem" the membership is going to create because their course isn't playing like Augusta and you'll lose your course for a season

And their practice area sucks a high hard one

But I might end up joining out there

Ellendale will never be Augusta, and they threw up some temp greens, BCC style greens that is

Did no other course extend playing privileges while they redid their greens?

According to Bama, they have to be redone every so often. But I played right before the official decision to tear them out was made and they played like LaTour's greens. Nothing wrong with them playing-wise, maybe maintenance. There have been a lot of made up issues out there. Also heard they wanted to get rid of the oilfield trash there, but realized their dues would have been over 1k/ month

Atchafalaya, but that's a 40 min drive from Ellendale

ETA: plus you had to pay your Ellendale dues and the $60/round at Atchafalaya
