Nothing feels more wasteful than hitting an approach within 6' and not holing the bird.
I know I won't get too many of those opportunities a round so it really hurts to leave one

Yeah let's not talk about putting. I am completely lost with that.

Santa Maria's greens were absolutely perfect Friday
So it makes sense that they are punching them today

Yeah one of my pars was a nine iron into the green. Eight feet from the pin, left birdie way short. Almost choked the par too but I got it just enough.

I had probably 6 or 7 of those over the Friday Sat Sun playing. good putts just bad read or burned edges. the stroke is solid just need to start dropping them. my course is punching and sanding greens today

light light light grip pressure, on a scale of 1-10 mines is a 2

Why are they punching again? Or are they just verticut-ing?

Pretty sure most courses punch 2x a year

Feel like when I go light grip, I spin the face right at the end and spin the ball a little or the face closes or opens, rolls it perfect end over end but on the wrong line.
Have trouble trying to use my shoulders and make a good pendulum swing.

I stuck 3 or 4 shots last Thursday within 10 feet and missed all the birdie putts. Very frustrating. Coulda been a 70s round on a new course but ill take my 83.

Played at L'Auberge Lake Charles on Thursday
Not worth the $100 they charge IMO FWIW

i feel like my course punches 4 times a year
Posted on 8/12/13 at 8:36 am to unbeWEAVEable
Most punch three times in the deep south
Posted on 8/12/13 at 8:36 am to wish i was tebow
That makes your course super duper reputable.

My course uses the 1/4" spikes as opposed to the 1/2" and after 3 days this week, they putted pretty well, though still a little bumpy

Oh rly?
What's the issue over there? Can't be worse than English Turn.

I know. I figured they had punched in the Spring.

our greens are in the best shape of the year right now after punching about 4-5 weeks ago. we have had a bit of rain which has helped. the rough has really grown up too so there are penalties a plenty if you miss the fairway. some guys were losing balls just off the fairway in high grass when we knew where they landed.
