I'm on the phone with golfnow - early May I has a tee time booked at the bluffs booked thru golfnow. It was raining that morning and I called the bluffs to check the weather and it was currently raining. I asked the Bluffs how was the weather since I live over a hour away they stated that it was raining and that it might clear up but they couldn't guarantee the weather. So when I receive my cc stmt I'm being charged a no-show @the bluffs for $118 - two some. Golfnow has called the Bluffs and they won't budge. I will call the Bluffs and advise. wtf.

Did you actually tell the Bluffs that you were not coming due to the weather

yes I called the bluffs that morning and confirmed it was raining and that would it be ok to cancel and they stated yes. Now the Bluffs is telling me that its golfnow that is the party charging my cc - exact opposite of what golfnow told me earlier. still wtf.

I just looked at the FAQ on golfnow.

Can I change a reservation?

All tee time sales are final. They are non-cancelable and non-refundable.

Looks like you are out of $118.

Yea I used to piss people the frick off at Sherwood when I would tell them that. It had nothing to do with us (for the most part)...

If it is raining and the course closes, it's up to the course to refund someone. If there is a chance you could play, you better be out there.

So to the OP, if they told you there is a chance it could stop raining, and you booked through a 3rd party to save money but decided not to show because it might rain, you ain't gettin anything back.

yes.

Tee times that are 100 % prepaid cannot be cancelled unless the golf course is closed due to weather on the day of play.
If you would like to request a change of date to your reservation, please complete the online Reservation Change form

So unless The Bluffs was closed, you have to pay. It also seems to me that IF The Bluffs were closed due to rain you had to fill on this Reservation Change form on golfnow.

Is $59 not a normal rate at The Bluffs?

I would think they would let you come out and use the rounds. It's not like it was a $25 hot deal. Pretty close to full price.

Talk to Bluffs and ask if you could pay the difference between the regular rate and what you paid, and come out and play. I think that would be fair for all parties.

What I've had to do is call the course and verify I'm eligible for a refund through GN. Then immediately call GN bc they will then call the course to verify that the course is under rain/adverse weather. Then GN issues the refund.

The Bluffs can make it right by giving you a rain check for that round.

Just depends.

Keep in mind you are using a 3rd party, not the course, to book the tee time. You are trying to get a deal. In effect, you are completely taking the liability away from the course for things like that. They don't have to do shut for you. If you were gonna pay full price, you should have booked the tee time through the shop.

it was raining - not might. both parties are telling me other party is responsible for the no-show. which is wasn't - just a cancellation. I guess the convenience with golfnow just went away.

This

I've had rain outs 2 or 3 times and never had a problem getting a refund but I took care of it promptly

GolfNow is responsible. I don't know why they are beating around the bush with you.
