Excuse #2

I bet you will love it now

I was just thinking that to myself

I like the way it looked/felt.

it sets you up more on top of the ball. Standing closer to the ball can't hurt as far as accuracy goes, and if it means you hit the center of the clubface more often you wont lose any distance.

That's what I was thinking looking down on it.
The dude didn't want to do it. He just kept shaking his head.
Oh well.

The guy didnt want to modify it?

You could tell him it was a gift for a friend that's shorter than average

today's shafts are tip stiffed, so cutting off the butt changes the swing weight, but it doesn't affect the overall performance of the shafts like it used to. I got the same looks when I cut down my clubs. I cant wait to see the look on their faces when I hobble in on crutches and tell them to cut down my x-100 steel driver shaft to under 44"

I don't know. I think he thought it would render it useless.
I told him I hit one over the weekend at the same length and it was fine.

It's missing the adapter which adds roughly an inch to the length when installed

Hitting The Island tomorrow afternoon if it's not raining

I haven't played a round on it, but I've hit in it a bunch of times on the virtual driving range. If you have the ball in the right spot in the mat it is semi accurate with distance.

Nice course, have fun.
Last time I played it, it had just rained.
Either the 5th or 6th hole, the drivable par 4...the landing zone for a normal drive holds water. It was staked off as ground under repair. I didn't realize that until I found my ball in an inch of water.
