i doubt anything is left after the bank took over. I assume everything was liquidated. I would assume every green would need to be dug up and replaced. I doubt anything has been touched in yrs

Do they still have all their equipment and what not? That's gonna be their biggest expense unless their greens were in need of renovation.
i believe the equipment was sold

the greens were in good shape when it was open
its been closed almost a year now, so I don't know exactly what that does to the grass that was there

if they are dumb enough to try and reopen it, I hope they loose all their money. The entire move is an awful financial decision

Absolutely guessing.
I would scalp it. Aerify it. Throw down some sand and fertilizer to fill the holes. And then start maintaining it at putting green height. Push it pretty hard with some fertilizer. Maybe foliarly applied instead of just granular.
Stay heavy on verticutting to get rid of some of the thatch buildup from the year of nothing (and the heavy fertility).
I think you could have them back within a few months. This is me completely guessing. Assuming they had correct greens construction before, they shouldn't have to dig them up.

It'd be an interesting challenge to bring a course back from being closed.
A WHOLE lot of chemical spray would need to be done.

i wish we had a total of money lost from that place being open since SFCC closed. How many times does it need to fail?

I wonder how much they will jack up the green fees since they will obviously have to put millions to get that place up and running.
Posted on 5/20/14 at 2:43 pm to lsu mike
i honestly dont believe it will get that far. I truely believe this is a pipe dream
edit - what was a major problem before? The debt or bank note. So to say they had to sink a couple mil into getting back in shape they go right back behind the 8ball.
