Need some real advice here...

Currently carry 18* hybrid then onto 3i, with 51* and 56* wedges.

Thinking about ditching the hybrid and going with 50*, 54*, and 58*. I've used the hybrid once this year in about 12 or so rounds and maybe 10 times all last year...

Is this crazy talk? Should I hold onto my 56* and hybrid just in-case I don't like the new setup?

I left the 52,56,60 setup for the 50,54,58 setup and it was a huge mistake. If you are good around the green with the 56 and don't currently have a 60, then you may be fine with the transition to 50,54,58

definitely

the hybrid serves an important purpose for me, but i am very comfortable hitting it

i also like the rescue ability of it also, as I find it much more versatile than my 3wood

i basically have the same set up as you right now

i have no need for an additional wedge, as I can create just about any shot I need with my 52 and 56

i think if you were comfortable hitting your hybrid, you'd see it much more as an asset

maybe you just need to find the right one

I like having three wedges.

Would you rather have your 3h or 3i? Could ditch either one and add a 3rd wedge. I go from 3h to 4i.

I cringe hitting my hybrid. And my ball flight is high enough and I have no issue hitting my 3i...so I'm pretty much getting rid of it...although its more of an 18* shallow 3w than an actual hybrid.

The issue I'm having right now with my wedges is I cannot hit a 1/2-3/4 shot with my 56.08* on top of that the 8* of bounce isn't enough for me in the sand...

what are your distance gaps like?

mine:

3w-225
3h-210
3i-190

Losing the hybrid could cause issue, though not that many times a round

why dont you just get a 60 and get rid of the hybrid instead of what you mentioned

Already have a high ball flight...and I'd like to use the lob wedge for more than just sand shots...

I should also add that I'm looking to replace my gap wedge anyways because I hate it...
