I currently play 690 CBs

That's currently what I have too. I went to a TaylorMade demo day yesterday and hit the Rocketbladez tour. I was actually pretty impressed. Also had KBS shafts as standard. Anyone have experience with them? I play DG's, but like the KBS C-Taper they put me in.

Went to the Oakbourne demo day on Saturday and tried a good bit of clubs... here is my report:

Titleist: still remain the best, IMO.
Irons: I hit the 712 AP1s, 712 AP2s, Forged CBs. I like how they've thinned the top line and soles a little bit on the new irons. Looks and plays great. Also hit the new SM4 Vokey wedges, wow. Just a great club.
Also hit the 913F 3 hybrid... holy shite is that a good club. When you hit the sweet spot, you hear a distinctive "click" and the ball just rockets in the air. Probably the best club I hit.
I already have the 913 D2 driver so no need to hit that.

Callaway:
Tried out the new X-Hot and X-Hot Pro irons. Hit the ones with the Project X 95 flighted 6.0 shafts... awesome shafts. The irons weren't quite as great as I had expected, but they still hit well and the shafts were super light and smooth. The X-Hot Pro irons are pretty sleek looking.

Taylor Made:
Tried the Rocketbladez and the RBZ stage 2 fairway woods. The Rocketbladez were legit... super long and forgiving. You could definitely feel the center-face contact. Launch angle was a little higher than expected but I guess all these GI irons launch high now.
I did not like the RBZ stage 2. I hit the 3-wood... it feels like they just keep making the shafts longer and longer for more distance. Don't get me wrong, the speed pocket is awesome and the ball jumps off the face, but for shorter guys like me, it was really hard to control the club. It felt like I was hitting a driver off the deck.

There were also Mizuno and Ping tents there, but I didn't have time to hit those.

Overall, I'd say if you are looking for some new model irons, check out the 712 AP1/AP2s for sure, and Rocketbladez are pretty good as well.
