no doubt it was a hard hit, but at this point the media eats this type of stuff up and blows it out of proportion and the NFL is forced to cave into the pressure with a suspension or fine.
see Saints "Bounty System" for best example of this.

It was a good clean hit, and I kept arguing with my Dad and my brother about it. They kept saying he went for the head, which he didn't.

Give NBC and the rest of the media a little bit of time to make a sexier headline and they'll come up with a story that it wasn't the physical pain that bothered Vernon about the hit, but in those moments it brought back horrible memories from one time he was bullied in third grade.

Davis is bigger than a f#%king linebacker, and that was a clean shot on the ball. Hell, Vernon trucking Roman Harper in the divisionals last year was more "vicious".

Great play...head on the correct side...right to the tucked ball to break up the play. Hard hit, but legal...great pass break-up!

That's why I would rather watch college football over the pros right now. Goodell is turning the NFL into a pussy league.

Looked legal to me. I guess they didn't like that he hit him so hard. As to Funky tide, as I have been saying it is not necessarily a helmet issue. It is how fast your brain goes from one part of the skull to another. If your head moves that fast, you are getting a concussion. There really is no way to prevent it.

That forearm shiver to Dez Bryant's face was waaay worse than the hit on V Davis. They didn't throw a flag on that one.

even at full speed it doesnt look like he hit him in the head just because his head jerked back doesnt mean he was hit in the head... terrible call, great hit, i think the worst part about it is three refs threw their flags

what else is the defender supposed to do?

Clearly, defenders are supposed to let receivers catch the ball and not try to break it up.

I hate the NFL.

Maybe they should change the rule and play two handed touch on receivers and quarterbacks.
