Was Minneapolis really lit up purple, or CGI?

I’m looking thru news articles today, but I can’t find anything confirming that the purple lighting effect citywide during the halftime show was real. It looked to be CGI to me. Has anyone read any details confirming one way or another?

It seemed like a visual effect put on by the broadcast. Everything that would have been white had a purple hue, then the Prince symbol was lit up in purple.
I think the symbol was legit and the hue was an effect. Not sure though.

Seemed blinding on parts of the surrounding highways. I imagined cars careening off roads

I just assume all parts of Minneapolis are rigged to create the Prince logo in case they ever need him.
