i don't think he intentionally ran him over
I don't think anyone is saying that either, but maybe I missed something.
there's no way stewart meant to run him over. that's just insane crazy talk.
the question is what was his intent? was he trying to scare him? I think he probably was. just my opinion from everything i've watched. only tony knows what he saw and what his intentions were.

Knowing Stewart it was definitely his intent to get as close as possible and then rev it and punch it by him. He knew once he was out Stewart probably should have gone a lot lower on the track. His intent was to buzz him. Unfortunately Ward got too close and should not have been as close as he was to passing cars. The car in front of Stewart came close to hitting him too but Stewart made no attempt to maneuver around him either. Stewart will never race those cars again and my guess is NASCAR will suspend him for some time. Sponsors will really be the key here - some will pull out and his team could be in jeapordy.

Did the 45 and the other car that ran high try to scare him too?
Posted on 8/11/14 at 10:05 am to nicholastiger
I'm guessing many forms of racing will instill some type of ban or fine for drivers leaving their car on the track like that for safety reasons, assuming they aren't already

I think this is the question at this point. The investigation will center around looking for recklessnes or negligence.

Yea, that video made that perfectly clear. Wait, no it didn't.

The mark guy that Mikie posted a comment from a few pages back also posted this in regards to Stewart knowing the guy had wrecked.

Mark Tychoniewicz
just a little more input for the so called "EXPERTS" Tony was ahead of Kevin when he wrecked,he had no idea that Kevin was the reason for the caution untill he came back around, how could that be premeditated ???

Anyone saying the hit was intentional is wrong.
ETA: I'll even go one further and say anyone claiming TS tried to scare him is wrong.

I have a question about race procedures while under a yellow flag, are the drivers allowed to change positions or are they "locked" in until the all clear is given? Secondly, under a yellow flag, are the drivers required to drive a specific speed?
In all honesty, if you're that ignorant about the sport, you shouldn't be commenting on the issue one way or the other.

what evidence do you have?

again based on what evidence
why are the people claiming that wrong and the people claiming he didn't see him not wrong?
you need to read your post prior to this about the video being perfectly clear and then oh wait no it isn't...so it clearly shows what you are claiming but not what others are? that is truly retarded logic man

Oh is this the part where we post quotes of other drivers to prove our point? Ok my turn
Here comes everyone to say Graves was a friend of Ward, without bothering to find out if the guy they are quoting knew Stewart
quote:
“I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards.”
quote:
“You never mean to do something like that,” Graves told Sporting News. “Kevin was pissed and he let Tony know. And Tony was trying to give the message back that he wasn’t happy either. He went over the line with it.“

How about this quote from a guy who was working on the 45 that almost hit him
Are those quotes from guys who were in the race?

quote:From a professional driver in the stands, who I would think has as good of view or better view then someone in the infield no?

ETA: My only point is the people calling anyone who thinks Stewart was maybe negligent dumbasses and retards are doing the same thing. Everyone is speculating in this thread. Both sides
