yes we do, he even said he was talking about the black security guard

Ahh ok. But why cant people see that if you are mad at someone and you call them a name, it might be because you know it will piss them off, and not be because its what you feel.

The McCoy thing also brings up an important issue, similar to the whole Paula Dean issue. It isnt important to people anymore how people treat those around them on a daily basis. McCoy just admitted that Cooper was one of his best friends on the team. So that close bond you shared and the conversations you had and the way you saw your friend carry himself on a daily basis doesnt matter? Those things dont speak to his character? Only the word he used while drunk and the implications YOU surmised about his character based on that action? Well then Lesean McCoy is a terrible fricking friend. What a lazy judge a character.

well it is what it is due to the history of this country and its history of treatment of black people up until about 50 years ago basically one generation.

You would think that if that word conjured up feelings or thoughts of those times that black people, in general, wouldnt use it so damn much.

Riley got to go on stage but they wouldnt let him backstage I think.

If it were Vick, they would have let him back there.

True, but that word only has power if you let it. You should write that person off as someone you don't want to associate with. Some whites call some black people the Nword, but only refer to the thugs as that and not to others. Would I do that? No, but it is kind of like calling some people rednecks and some not.

It doesnt matter. Lets pretend there is a super derogatory term for Christian. That is what i most associate with. Call me that i dont care. You dont have the ability to affect me with a word. That would just make me an insecure person if you did.

black people didn't say hey slave owner call me a n**ger

I understand that, but neither your mom, grandpa, or uncles experienced slavery. So, at what point in history is that forgotten? What about the Irish who were sometimes treated worse than slaves in this country?

And when are you going to realize it's not just about how he used the word, it's the context.

Yes it is. A black person who uses the N-word, is probably going to be less educated(god i would hope so, right?) They might say "My n**ga Jeff is a bank tella." You cant say that they would have decided to pronounce the er sound, a sound that they never pronounce, if they wanted to be racist.

Just stating there are people that do that. I choose not to.

ok. Can you really assign context to a drunken word? Was it douchy? Of course. What about all the conversations and days he spent with his teammates and black friends? Does that count for nothing of his character?
