With Verlander stepping away, I think it shits the door on pitchers reaching 300 wins… atleast for the foreseeable future.

Load management, shorter starts, and higher injury rates seems to point to this.

Verlander got to 266…. Very impressive.

The last 300 winner was Randy Johnson in 2009.

Unless something changes, I don’t see a pitcher getting there in the next 20 years.

Hopefully the MVP and 3 Cy Young’s gets him over the hump. Fingers crossed.
