If you were flirting with a USC song girl you would eventually convince yourself that “there’s no way I have a shot.” It’s just a fantasy.
If in the same position with an Oregon dancer I would think I have a shot but looking around thinking “OK where is her boyfriend. I don’t want to get my arse kicked and I doubt this chick makes good relationship decisions.

Any decent university in California is like 35% Asian at least.
My brother pushed his daughters pretty hard. One is an average B student who probably won’t get into San Diego State. For those who don’t know there are two systems in California UC and state. The states like San Diego State, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State et al. were kind of like the community colleges for colleges in California. Anyone could get in. The Asians have pushed the standards up so high that even these ones average schools are competitive and so California kids go to Oregon Washington Utah Colorado.

Because California outlawed Affirmative Action. They can't use race as a deciding factor so Asians will be represented by test scores.
USC isn't a public institution and has more leeway than UCLA which is about 40% Asian based on test scores.

Actually USC is ranked ahead of fucla and kal in academic rankings. It has been that way for a few years.
