How do you think SC got that talent?

because they are USC. kids on the west coast are going to go to USC regardless of who is coaching. they grew up USC bound

I would tend to think he had a hand in a lot of that talent, considering how well he has recruited at both UT and SC.

you cant group in his current USC recruiting with this.

you dont think his dad and assistant coaches helped recruiting at tenn?

Maybe even Riley and Graham.

I'll be honest, I just don't have that much respect for the guy. He made a terrible first impression on folks around here while at UT. He was acting like he was Steve Spurrier.

what does the bolded part mean?

It means so far, with sanctions and probation, Kif has done a better job than any other coach of a team with severe sanctions and probation or even moderate ones. FWIW, other than the death of SMU, no one has ever received such sanctions. Look at last year's record while losing a several players who transferred and while playing for nothing. Look at their years recruiting class so far. When USC was on a moderate probation in the 90s recruiting and play suffered significantly. Not now. Time will tell if it will continue.

quote:

yea but at one point arentt they going to be short 30 scholarships?

30 less players on schollie. Kif will continue to get around it, as much as possible, within NCAA rules, just as he did last year. He took only 16 last year, which started the some of the reduction. He is, indeed, working magic.

You do realize that in Carroll's last five years he took 20 or more players only once. The rest were 18 and one year with 19.

riiight. Because the tore it up in recruiting in the 90's after only a moderate probation.

i think he is a good coach and will be successful but some of the shite in here is absurd.

then again one of the guys in here cuckolding for him said the other day RG3 would never see the field at any other D1 program

Yeah, he'd pull the same athletes if he was coaching at Cal or UCLA.

i get what youre saying but you dont think that it being USC has something to do with it?

you think he could do this equally at a school not named USC?

quote:

30 less players on schollie. Kif will continue to get around it, as much as possible, withing NCAA rules, just as he did last year

i dont get this. why does the ncaa deduct scholarships if you can just get around them

quote:

He is, indeed, working magic.

how is it magic? if there is a way around this, its gotta be pretty well known. im assuming ncaa rules are written and basically set in stone.

not trying to argue/fight but i dont really understand the logistics of their punishment

On every key piece is that EE's count against next year's schollies. Kif will keep doing this each year until it is bumped to the next full class. But one year, we will likely only get seven or eight. The year after he does that, he will take over 25.

It is confusing though. Last year he took 16 and had some EE's count against this years class, but will still end up with 18 this year.

Said he wouldn't have seen the field as a QB at any major D1 program. You know like an LSU, Texas, Baman, SC, UGA, etc.

Not too absurd considering scouts had concern he'd be moved to WR, and Baylor was one of if not the only school that wanted him as a QB.
