No. Unfortunately, he didn't want to finish what he started at UT. The SEC was too tough for him.

Lame try. Name the coaches who have stayed at one school as a head coach. I guess the Big-10 was too tough for Miles and even Saban. See, I can play too.

Oh, in my previous statement, I left off "recruits", as in two more years of recruits

They didn't leave OSU and MSU after just one year.

Besides, they didn't run away from the SEC. They came to it.

Oh yeah, after 4 and 5 years. ANd after stellar records. And both resigned when under contract. Thus, not finishing what they started. See, I can nitpick too. Fun huh?

You are trying too hard.

Kiffin ran from the SEC. Miles and Saban didn't. They're tougher.

Ran from the Big-12 and 10. See, fun with words.

BTW, you are perhaps the most argumentative and obnoxious person on this site.

Exactly. They ran to a tougher conference in the SEC.

Kiffin couldn't handle it.

It'll be okay, wittle baby.

Rocket your obssession with this thread makes me call your sexuality into question.

In all honesty this is about a coach and cfb. Stop with any personal attacks. And that means everybody.

We are here to debate interesting topics. Not to pick stupid fights.

Kiffin is kicking arse and is a great coach. Debate that...

There is no debate. The guy is not a "Great Coach" ...

Definition of great - Of an extent, amount, or intensity considerably above the normal or average.

His record says that he is not CONSIDERABLY above average. Not yet and maybe not ever, so stop saying he is a great coach.

Great recruiter, hell yea ... Even though I would like to see how he would do without Big O.

I remember you from the Ole Miss Rivals board when Orgeron was hired. You assured everyone Orgeron would be at Ole Miss longer than Miles would be at LSU

He's had one 10 win season. I'm sorry, I just don't respect the guy. And anyone who suggests that he belongs in the league with Meyer and Saban at this point needs to be marginalized in society in every way. His accomplishments just don't add up.

The point previously made as the coach for a team to be built around for the next ten years. Of course he does not have the experience and longstanding success as those two mentioned.

By the way, Kif finished second in the SEC-E and the SEC is touted as very very very tough from top to bottom by the wanna be pundits here.

There's so much hate for Kiffin on this board.

Of course he doesn't have accomplishments like titles (conference or national) - although USC would have played Oregon again for the Pac 12 title last year if not for the sanctions...and UT fans will tell you he had that program storming in the right direction after that National Championship Bama team game and recruiting.

Despite your craziness toward Kiffin Rocket, there's a shite ton of people who would take young Kiffin right now over most of the coaches to lead their program for the long-term future...over dinasours like Richt, Stoops and others past their prime who are living off of old glory and aren't the recruiters they used to be...hell, Big Game Bob was never the same once his brother left for Arizona 8 years ago. OU used to blow people out in bowl games...and then they turned into perennial bowl chumps.

This discussion isn't about resumes and it's not about living in the past. You would make a terrible stock broker because you suck at seeing the future Rocket and which coaches are rising stars and which coaches are past their prime. Like Paterno, you are holding on too tight. Let your anger go.

I wouldn't say hate but more calling people out for the just absurd notion that Kiffin is already an elite coach. He is a good coach but to put him top 5 is just fricking crazy

Very good. So you agree with my statement. And he finished tied for second in the SEC-E in his first year, without the opportunity to be in the system for nine moths before starting the season, and without his recruits.

But OU has been good on a consistent basis over a long period. And he's survived programs raiding his staff.

Sorry cuz, there are plenty of coaches that still have plenty of juice in them. Just because they may be in their 50's doesn't mean they are running out of steam. Both Miles and Saban were hired at their current programs when they were in their 50's. Spurrier, who is in his mid-late 60's is still doing more for SC than anyone ever has. I make no apologies for recognizing coaching talent outside of USC.
