In a metro area of 13 million there ought to be 75000 who want to go to a college football game. That's proportional to 5000 in New Orleans. Tulane at their worst drew more than that.

they only show, when team is a winner and highly ranked
it's same LA fans, you expect them to show?

Saban has commented on low crowds. Much has been written on declining attendance in college football. Not just a west coast problem.
It’s a problem in every corner of the US. Was an article a few years back in the LSU paper talking about fixing attendance.
It’s an issue nation wide

USC fans are front runners. Plain and simple.
You could say the same thing with the exception of a handful of fan bases

That’s not a knock on LSU. Just showing that even a fan base like LSU has the same struggles. It’s quite problematic across college football.
And that's Baton Rouge where the game is the highlight of the week.
It's L.A. I don't know why people constantly compare it to college towns.
Is NYC full of CFB fans?
L.A. isn't a college town where everyone roots for good ol' State.
It's the #1 transplant city in America... everyone already has their own teams and fandom but hey, they're gonna make it big in L.A.

Most LSU fans are beyond ignorant about USC.
Just read about a certain coach’s time there.

I don’t think all of the Garcia’s and Martinez’s are college football fans. Have a Mexico-USA game in the same stadium and it’s packed

That's funny because I remember that! It was really close to where my tailgating was taking place. I actually almost added that to my original post!

Matt Leinart (SP) said the crowd is electric!

NS seldom if ever talks about small crowds..He talks about the ones who leave early, which mostly are students and the elderly who want to get ahead of traffic if the game is a huge blow out.

I did a google image search of these photos. The article from the Tennessee one quotes "The stands were nearly full at kickoff". So the stands are empty here, yes, but the place was packed at kickoff.
And the Flrida picture clearly is from a pre-game. In fact, the article it comes from has 2 comments in the discussion section from people who were there stating just that.
"eah, that pic was taken pre-game. It was a noon start, homecoming, night after Gator Growl, and those east stands you're looking at are the seats belonging to students who are still hung over at this point. Was it a sellout? Not in the least. But let's have a little honesty here."
"Not sure when that was taken, but the stands filled up much more when the game started - its an early game and people were tail-gating."
I'm sure that there are plenty of times that southern football stadiums didn't match west or east coast attendance numbers, but overall to suggest that fans in the South don't show up in larger numbers than in any other place in the country is false. And don't google "empty SEC stadiums" and use 2 cherry picked photos to make an argument.

Declining attn is relative. Many of the stadiums have expanded to over 100K which is probably too big. So yes if Alabama LSU or anyone plays Central Scrub St at 11 am or it’s raining or stupid hot there are pockets of empty seats at the start and larger swaths of empty seats as the game goes on especially if it’s a blow out.
Compare apples to apples, what was the USC crowd last night at the start and while the game was competitive? USC was up 10-0 at one point. If LSU was losing 56-17 then yes TS would empty out
