IMO, if the rankings were done this year like in years past when USC started the year as #1, Georgia would be still #1 and USC #2; since Georgia hasn't lost. I remember years before that, "USC just always finds a way to win." The rankings are opinions of voters anyway. Until there is a playoff system where Conference Champs play for the title, it will always be opinion-based, and arguable. Nobody whines that the Giants weren't better than the Patriots; they made it through the gauntlet and won, so be it.

I actually whined a little. I wondered aloud how a 14-5 (or whatever their record was) can be the champion over a 18-1 team, esp since the Pats had beaten the Giants just a few weeks before. But since I'm not that big a Pats fan and nobody listened anyway, I wonder aloud no more.

Yeah, LSU deserved it in 2003...and they got the crystal football. Justice was served. USC fans have the right to disagree, we would do the same if the shoe were on the other foot.

I'll tell you this. They played the toughest teams of any top ten team. Auburn in the top ten, a joke. Who has Georgia played. Florida?

Exactly, Virginia will win the ACC and Blowhio State will win the Big 11. I can't think of a tougher all around schedule. It is dispicable the lack of respect you guys get.

USC looks fantastic. Let's see how they look in the next 10-12 weeks before they are overrated. Clearly more talented than osU, but they do play some real juggernauts coming up...Stanford, Cal-Berkley, UCLA

i think usc should be ranked #1 at this point but anyone who says they are far superior to any other team in the nation is just drinkin the SC coolaid that has been spiked with bacardi 151.

I hate to have to agree with a loon like you, but you are right, USC has beaten a very bad Virginia team that was easily blown out by Uconn and a very over-rated (at least at this point in the season) Ohio State team that got lucky to barely survive a very weak Ohio team. Hence, it’s obvious that the media is drinking the kool-aid again! Which is again why I would love to see a college playoff, to make the system fairer to all involved and not just the media darlings.

We are over rated. Unless LSU gets a much improved play from the QB positon, we will have a 8 and 4 season. USC is the best team in the nation right now. But the season is very young.

2. I hate USC.
3. It is early in the season right now.
4. Pac10 sucks.
5. big10 sucks.
6. Big12 and Sec are the dominate conf. right now easy.
7. There can be NC caliber teams in an otherwise crappy conf.
8. It doesn't matter who is best. It matters who wins. Talk of who is best is not relevant to the bottom line.
