US Open (golf) Officially Postponed

Disappointing, but expected. Hopefully the USGA can find another date this year that works. Winged Foot is gorgeous course and I was planning on making the trip.

I was hoping June events wouldn't get postponed yet. Wimbledon is going to be cancelled IMO, unless they could somehow do it early August. But, then you would have three majors played on top of each other.

I don't understand why cancel June events today. Wait till 4 weeks out and see where things are.

Yea they should be on hold with canceling until at least a month out.

Well, I hope not, or we will never stamp this issue out.
I, as much as anyone else, wants to see things return to normal, but there will be a new normal around so many things, and I do think social distancing will be a new normal as much as possible.
Sports, and in particular sports in person attendance will be greatly affected by this.

US Open has a ton of qualifiers that would be kicking off soon. I would think that’s one of the biggest considerations for postponing.
