So to the 1.5 people here that know some of the rules of curling...
Why did the Russian women retain the last shot after they fricked up in END3 to give the US women 1 point? The board wasn't clear but they retained last shot anyway.

So, is this giving up a point to get the hammer in the next end a pretty standard thing in curling.

Depending on the time and cirumstance... yes.
Example, if up 2 and the other team has the hammer in the back half of the match... you want to force them to take one and then you are in complete control (excluding the Americans this go around)

curling is def. the hottest womens winter olympic sport..I say they should have to get in beach volleyball bikinis and could def. contend with the volleyabblers
