Of course Hurka Durka wins in 5.

All of a sudden this Alcaraz path doesn't look quite so easy.

Shapotrash
Norrie/Musetti
Shitpants
Novak on paper but I feel like it might be KK or Rublev
Sinner/Rune

Hurkacz wins the marathon 4 hours 44 minutes match.

Next up in that group is Varillas/Hurkacz. Both players have played back to back 5-set matches. Average match length between the 2: 3 hours and 53 minutes.

Sinner is going five. This the type of match that is going to cost him if he advances.

This is one hell of a match. 5 hours during the middle of day heat… both guys are gassed.

Sinner fought like crazy to get the break, then dumps it right back.

TP just went down 2-1. At least Giron is a monster.

He has a great opportunity in his half. But, I don't see him beating Ruud and Rune on clay.

I watched Kayla Day play in a junior tournament. She skipped college and turned pro. I've been following her career since. She's had injuries and has never been able to break into the top 100. I'm happy to see her in the 3rd round. She seems like a nice girl.

Eta the match I watched her play was against Claire Liu who hasn't had tremendous success as a pro either. It's tough to make it as a professional tennis player!

Liu peaked at 52 and she’s only 23. That’s not bad at all.

This Rune path is getting easier by the hour.

Well I think at one point or another both girls were ranked #1 in the world as juniors. They probably had higher aspirations as a pro by now. But, yes, they're both finding their way. It's just tough.

Didn't realize that. For a second I thought it might be height related but then I realized Swiatek is 5'9" and Halep is 5'6".
