Cressy is the only Top 50 player that I can think of that uses as their primary tactic.

Hurkacz goes to the serve and volley a lot. And I want to say Struff likes to serve and volley.

Purcell (#68) is a serve and volley specialist.

Definitely something that I think is underutilized as a change of pace tactic.

Definitely. Even the haters would have to acknowledge

Khachanov did it a few times today and had success. I feel like players forget about it sometimes just out of habit. They could do a better job mixing it up between 1st/2nd serves imo but it’s opponent-dependent. We’ll see it a bunch from Rune tomorrow night too.

It’s funny how casuals keep linking Alcaraz to Rafa. Their games are nothing alike and Alcaraz already had a better serve at 19 than Rafa ever had.

Who wants to post the odds for the match Friday? I am assuming Alcaraz is a slight favorite.

They're both Spanish teenage phenoms who are uber-dominant on clay. That's all that matters even if their games aren't similar at all.

Actually Carlos is a pretty big favorite for who he is going against….

DraftKings: Alcaraz -205, Djokovic +170. Fanduel: Alcaraz -210, Djokovic +172. BetMGM: Alcaraz -200, Djokovic +165.

I would say that the way they play each match is similar. They both go after every point like it’s their last. Fed made tennis look easy. Rafa makes
It look hard. Carlos makes it look both. The not thing I would be concerned about is he mentally tough enough to beat joker on this big of a stage.

I would def take Djoker with those odds as I think it's close to 50/50.

Is Alcaraz -1.5 sets plus money?

You could take Djokovic +170 and Alcaraz on the set line and probably win money either way.

If it goes five sets I have a hard time believing Djokovic doesn't win.

I don't see that exact bet, but I do see almost everything else imaginable. You can get Carlos -4.5 games for +105 or -3.5 games for -120.

Alex is through to the semis. That is a nice recovery after ripping up his ankle there last year.

More non-French Open talk. But got pushed an article about the Mallorca (grass) entry list, and there's two more players that like to go to the serve and volley pretty often. Kyrgios is making his return in time for grass season, and Bublik is seeded at Mallorca. Bublik loves to serve and volley (almost as much as underhand serves). Kyrgios goes to it a lot when his big serve is working and late in matches when he gets tired. Seems to be a common theme for "low effort" players as it's a great way to shorten points and avoid tiresome rallies.

Maybe Fritz needs to serve and volley more.

Agree. And in general too not just on grass. I think he doesn't trust his net game. He probably needs to play more doubles too.

Rune under 4.5 aces at DK. Starts in 10 mins. One of the biggest plays of my life.

Rune brought all the nerves today.

6 DFs and the 2nd set just started.

Missed a pretty easy meatball overhead there.
