It's got to be tough evaluating kids from big time programs vs a kid from a small school. Comparing someone like Bennie Logan from Coushatta who played in AA vs a AAAAA all-state stud. You have to assume Logan didn't have the weight room/program that the 5A player had in HS, so he had more potential. But then you look at Andrew Whitworth who starred at West Monroe (5A all state player, great weight room etc) and continued to develop. It's not an exact science.

considering half the players from OU are from TexAS,l you have to ask yourself why OU is more talanted in the first place

What are you confused about? UT has sucked for a few years now and, until this year, you could count Baylor as of late as one that had more talent, along with TCU, OK State, and probably W. VA.

Mack Brown had a lazy recruiting philosophy. Offer them early, pressure them to commit or move on to another and do the same on down the list.
They've missed on a ton of qbs but they've had plenty of talent. Their coaching and motivation had been what's lacking.

It is amazing UF and USC never had this problem. Mack was lucky he hit the market when the good ole boy network was still in place.

I would argue Texas has brought in better talent than everyone in the Big 12 besides OU in recent years. They're coaching has been much worse than the schools you mentioned. The talent they have on campus right now should be good enough to be better than OSU, Baylor, etc.
