I hope this is hyperbole, and that you don't really believe that d1 athletes in any conference are the same as high schoolers.

No reason why the Cajuns can't go 13-0.

Will probably end up losing to Boise or Ole Miss and drop a couple games that should be wins (ULM or USA).

I'd be really happy with 10 wins.

I remember 1984. I was 14 and more worried about a jv cheerleader than my homework . Should i be upset about something that happened 30 years ago?? I hope not, that's alot of unnecessary anger

its like a previous poster said, we lost Colton Browning and quiet a few others. However, the big if is the QB position, if that is filled with a better than average QB, we are in good shape. go warhawks!!

But that is a significant underlying cause for the resentment. Particularly for the 40 and over crowd that dominate ULL message boards.

Taking a step up in conference means a tougher schedule. But the new stadium should generate some excitement. First game on the University of Louisiana campus in 40 years.

what's the cause of resentment for current students that cheer loudly at ULL home games if it is announced LSU is losing?

We are actually The University of Louisiana. Louisiana for short.

Actually, you're not. Outside of a few thousand militant fans with penis envy on the other side of the Atchafalaya, literally no one in the country hears "Louisiana" and thinks of UL-L.

God forbid a national sports caster for ESPN actually call your by your actual legal name. Then those few thousand militant UL-L fans launch a crusade to teach him the error of his ways by calling your school by its name.

To answer the original poster's question: I don't know who Louisville will do this year. Or wait, did you mean University of Louisiana Warhawks in Monroe?

It's a matter of "I'm not good enough to go to LSU, so we will pretend we are better than LSU"

Yes, that's the official name of LSU. So you can get our name right, but not your own?

ETA: But I'd rather you pay my alma mater full respect and call it by its full name: "Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College." Pay respect where it's deserved, son.

Pure, unadulterated jealousy. I have some UL-L friends, and while they are cool and level headed, some of their friends are on the fringe and actually fly into seething fits of rage every time LSU or Baton Rouge are mentioned in convo. They'll come up with things like, "Purple and Puke," "Rotten Rouge," "Refineryville," "Evil Empire," or my favorite, "LSU A&M at Baton Rouge."

I like to see how long I can stoke the fire by just calling them Lafayette.

I have friends and family that are UL-L alumns and they are beginning to dislike their alma mater because of the weird and unprovoked hatred they have recently developed toward LSU A&M.
