My biggest concern for him if this fight were to happen would be his gas tank. In the Bisping fight it looks like he was going to gas, but he ended up catching his second wind before finishing him.
GSP at a 165 catch weight would be the energizer bunny.

I see gsp jabbing him up like he did koscheck. Gsp has a great base and I just don’t see Khabib being able to take him down. Gsp also has a 6” reach advantage which is a lot and will help.

I remember watching GSP in his early days. I’m talking 2002 when UFC was a very niche thing. He was amazing. He’s actually the reason why I started really watching the sport. It made me think I missed some prime fighting before him.
I say this to say that GSP is capable of whipping anybody’s arse. I’d put money on him in heartbeat.

I forgot what podcast it was (perhaps Lex Friedman) where GSP recent said that his strategy against Khabib would be totally different than anyone else's.
He said he would basically attack Khabib and take him down, but do it in the middle of the ring, where he does not have the cage advantage, and basically go from there.
I often had this same thought on why someone didn't try to bully Khabib before he could get you to the cage where he wants the fight to be.
The old strategy of bullying the bully has worked alot in fighting. Tyson Fury did it to perfection with the 2nd Wilder fight.
But then I realized that most all of the guys he fought weren't elite UFC wrestlers.
If GSP ever got Khabib to the ground in the center of the ring, his BJJ, wrestling and submission game would all be there and be deadly.
Question is, though, can Khabib even be taken down? No one has ever ready tried it, and the ones who did kind of did it out of desperation and was probably not in their original game plan.
Khabib has also always used 155 as a gigantic personal advantage. He always barely made weight and, by fight time, he often looked 20lbs heavier than his opponent. With GSP, he would not have that advantage at all.
Although I think Khabib wins the fight, I think that it's probably because of his age, while Khabib is still in his prime.

In his prime, GSP murders him at any weight. Now, I'm not so sure.
